We are an independent, people-first agency that aims to do things differently.

OUR STORY

It’s always worth looking back to the beginning, and taking the time to acknowledge the progress + growth that’s been achieved. What a journey!

We started in 2018 as a more traditional media agency – providing media recommendations and booking advertising space. By forming close working relationships and understanding more about our clients’ businesses, it soon became apparent that we possessed broader skills that could add real value.

We were already starting to go beyond our media buying capacity to discover + meet broader marketing objectives. When we stopped to reflect on the partnerships we were building and the work we were doing, we realised that we’d evolved to the point that our overarching reason for existing was to align your business purpose with your customer’s desires. That’s when we formally added strategy + creative to our offering, taking time to find the right people to provide a complete end-to-end service.

So Equality Media + Marketing was born. The rest is history.

OUR IMPACT + INITIATIVES

We’re motivated to make an impact for our clients, but also for the community in which we live. We are laser-focused on what we can and should be doing to leave our planet in a better place. And we’re always thinking about how we can contribute back to our community + those in need.

EQUALITY.TIME

Since the very beginning, we wanted to offer a flexible workplace to make sure the best people faced no barriers to working with us. 

In April 2022, we took the next step – a giant leap – and consolidated the findings of numerous workshops + trialling best practices to establish a 32-hour/four-day work week. And we cannot be more thrilled with the results. In the first 12 months, we’ve noted an increase in productivity, fewer sick days and a real buzz around the office. To top it off, the industry has granted us with awards + recognition for our innovative culture (see more below) – we're pretty chuffed.

EQUALITY.CARE

When the bulk of your time is spent at work, it’s nice for work to give something back. 

In 2022 we added additional entitlements for our team, including access to leave for menopause/menstruation, gender affirmation, Pawternity, pregnancy loss, grandparents + carers – that's 19 extra days! We also pay attention to the basics, like meaningful personal development plans + training courses, access to EAP and genuinely fun activities run by our mental health + wellness committee and social club (think trivia nights, kareoke, barefoot bowls + mindfulness sessions). We care about the whole person.

COMMUNITY GIVING

We are inspired by the many incredible organisations out there doing what they can to make people’s lives better.

We’re committed to providing pro bono services to Women’s Property Initiatives (WPI), a not-for-profit, community housing provider creating permanent and affordable homes for women + children at risk of homelessness. We also actively participate in part in The March Charge for cancer research. We pledge 10% of profits to not-for profit organisations including WPI and First Nations groups, Pay The Rent + Djirra, in acknowledgement that the Wurundjeri lands on which we’re based were never ceded.
